Test Dates & Details
I run my tests in phases, which might be different from other tests you have worked on. The test is held in a private Facebook group. Everyone joins the Facebook group at the same time. PHASE 1 testers start first and submit their fit photos and complete a survey. I make all necessary updates and then upload a new pattern for PHASE 2 testers. Same for the Final Review.
PHASE 1: January 18th – January 22nd
PHASE 2: January 25th – January 29th
FINAL REVIEW: January 31st – February 5th
Please review the dates and confirm they are workable before applying. I live in California, so the dates & times referenced during testing are PST. I am looking for about 10 testers for each phase and I usually close the tester call in about 24 hours.
To test the pattern, I ask that you are able to sew the pattern following the tutorial, complete the survey and submit fit photos on a model by January 22nd (for PHASE 1), January 29th (for PHASE 2) or February 5th (for FINAL REVIEW). Only one sample is required for each tester. I require modeled fit photos only – styled photos are welcomed and used for the tester roundup post. In return, you will receive the final pattern for free and will hopefully have had a great time connecting with other sewists.
I am posting this tester call a little earlier than I would usually to make sure you have enough time to get all fabric and supplies.
Fabric & Trim Requirements
This style is designed for medium weight woven fabric with a good drape. I have been using Tencel Twill, but Rayon Twill or Linen would be good options. For the lining, I recommend a rayon or poly lining. You could also use flannel for the body lining (if you prefer flannel, I recommend using rayon for the sleeves).
– A separating jacket zipper. 26″ (66 cm) for sizes 0-6 & 28″ (71 cm) for sizes 8-18. You may need another zipper length depending on your height adjustments.
– 1 yard 60″ (150 cm) or 3 yards of 20″ (50 cm) Tricot fusible interfacing.
Optional trims and sewing notions
-1 yard, 1/4″ (0.6 cm) twill tape for stabilizing the neckline.
– Four 3/8″ (1 cm) grommets. You can sew buttonholes instead of grommets or omit them.
– Five yards of pre-made drawstring or cording. You can sew drawstrings using the main fabric or omit them.
– Safety pin for threading drawstring, small enough to fit through a 3/8″ (1 cm) grommet.
– Bias maker tool can be useful if making your own drawstrings.
Chalk and Notch Women’s size range: 0 thru 18
