I thought I’d share a few photos of my day, date night & hacks to get started. At last count, I own 7 Waterfalls. My style is pretty relaxed and I wear my Waterfalls with jeans and boots most days. I work from home and my work hours are based around taking care of my three little humans who bacsically rule my world. I don’t have much time to fuss about what I look like but I like to feel put together, it just makes me feel better. This top is perfect for that, a little more than a t-shirt but super comfortable and – if I do say so myself – stylish. Here are a few shots of me in my everyday. Full disclosure, I don’t actually wear this much makeup most days, but you know…photos of yourself on the internet…incentive to get it together.
The taupe fabric on the left is from a local shop in a light weight french terry and the Wine colored Waterfall is the Sand Washed Modal from Stylish Fabric, you can see all the colors available here. I highly recommend this fabric!
For a date night with my husband, switching my shoes from boots to wedges is just about my speed. I paired the Waterfall with the Carrie Cardigan from Delia Creates, I love the cocoon shape of this cardigan and you can’t beat a quick & stylish make. I am super excited to make more and you can win this pattern as part of the rafflecopter giveaway during the tour.
For the Carrie Cardigan, I used Jersey with Merino-like Hacci from Stylish fabric in Brown, it’s sold out in Brown, but available in Black. The Rayon Jersey used for the Waterfall was locally sourced.
When I was putting this tour together I wanted to showcase how versatile this pattern can be. The style lines on the Waterfall are really simple and it’s a good base for modifications and hacks. The pattern includes a top and dress, three sleeve lengths as well as an optional pocket but with a few tweaks, there are endless options! Over the holidays I made both the top and dress without the ruffle and I love them. This hack is super simple, just measure the desired finished length and adjust the bodice pieces at the lengthen/shorten cut line indicated on the pattern and omit the ruffles. As an added bonus, if you remove the ruffles you cut your sewing time in half. I am super excited to see Friday’s posts with all of the hacks!
I hope you are excited to come check out our tour this week. Here’s a preview of our awesome blogger line up! Most of these ladies helped to test this pattern and have been such a support to me when releasing this pattern – I can’t thank them enough.
