Fitting and custom adjustments is an important part of apparel sewing, we go over the most common adjustments we have seen for the Orchid.

Before we start sewing we need to gather our supplies and cut out our pattern pieces.

It’s time to start sewing! We’ll get the bodice pieces ready as well as sewing darts and creating the waist ties.

Let’s start putting things together. Here we’ll attach the bias, sew yokes, and assemble the front and back bodice pieces.

After this step, the bodice of your Orchid will be almost complete. Now we’ll attach either the short flutter or long sleeves and sew the bodice side seams.

Now that the bodice is sorted, it’s time to move on to the skirt. We’ll prepare and attach the pockets as well as sewing the skirt side seams and center front seam.

Your skirt is almost assembled. These next steps will walk you through preparing and sewing the hem, and creating the mitered corners of the front slit.

Here we’ll add the finishing details by sewing the waistband casing and attaching the skirt and bodice for a completed Orchid Midi Dress!
