EDIT: We have updated the Pixie & added a Mini Pixie pattern. You can check out the updated pattern release post here.

It’s release day for the Pixie Tee and I am also debuting a new pattern tutorial layout! I asked for your feedback in a recent survey to help me bring you pattern tutorials you love. I took your feedback and I also received design help from Elise Epp, who also designed all of the new Chalk and Notch branding. I can’t wait to hear what you think of it all!

You can purchase the Pixie Tee in the Chalk and Notch shop while it’s on sale through Monday, July 2nd.

PATTERN DETAILS

The Pixie Tee is a relaxed fit top and dress. With a combination of two different views and interchangeable sleeves, we hope you get a lot of mileage out of this pattern.

Size Chart

Chalk and Notch’s size range is 0 – 18, and the body measurements are listed below. This style includes 5″ of ease through the body. It’s advised to choose a size based on your full bust measurement. If you fall between sizes, you can size down or blend between sizes. If you need custom adjustments, like blending sizes or adding length, instructions are included in the pattern tutorial.

FABRIC & TRIM REQUIREMENTS

This style is designed for a light to medium weight 70% – 90% stretch knit fabric with nice drape and good recovery. Recommended fabrics are Rayon Jersey, Bamboo Jersey, Modal Jersey, Cotton Jersey and Rayon French Terry. Every pattern will look different based on the fabric used. If your knit has less stretch, please note that you will need to adjust the circumference of your bands to accommodate your fabric. You can check your stash to see if you have anything on hand.

View A has hem ties. I found it best to use a lightweight woven fabric that allows for a pretty bow. You need 1/4 yard (0.2 m) of lightweight woven Rayon, Cotton or Linen.

View A requires 1 yard (0.9 m) of 1.25” (3 cm) Elastic. This allows for a more even gather at the hem. A safety pin is recommended to help thread the tie through the casing.

FABRIC SOURCES

If you don’t have any fabric on hand and you are looking for some resources, I would like to share some of my favorite indie fabric shops with you. I do most of my fabric shopping online since we don’t have a fabric shop in my town. All of these shops have great customer service and offer excellent high-quality fabrics! D+H Fabrics is new to me; they just launched their online shop last week and I’ve heard great things.

The Fabric Store | Premium Merino Jersey
Harts Fabric | Rayon Jersey & Bamboo Jersey
Blackbird Fabrics | French Terry & Bamboo Jersey
Imagine Gnats | Jersey
INDIESEW | Rayon Spandex
La Mercerie | Bamboo Jersey
D+H Fabrics Co. | Bamboo Jersey
Raspberry Creek Fabrics | Jersey
