Chalk and Notch - Fringe Pattern
Thank you for your interest, the tester call is now closed

I am so excited to announce the tester call for my next pattern – the Fringe. The Fringe Pattern is a woven dress & blouse pattern with two neckline and sleeve/cuff options. The dress offers optional pockets and there is an optional waist tie. The link to apply is below.

View A is pictured. This view includes a button front closure with an elbow length sleeve and sleeve tab for a draped detail. View B is a pull over style with a notched front neckline and cuff. The cuff can be worn down or folded up.

I run my tests in phases, which might be different from other tests you have worked on. The test is held in a private Facebook group. Everyone joins the Facebook group at the same time. PHASE 1 testers start first and submit their fit photos and complete a survey. I make all necessary updates and then upload a new pattern for PHASE 2 testers. Same for the Final Review.

Test Dates
PHASE 1: 7/22 – 7/25
PHASE 2: 7/28 – 8/1
FINAL REVIEW: 8/4 – 8/8
Please review the dates and confirm they are workable before applying. I live in California, dates & times referenced during testing are PST. I am looking for about 10 testers for each phase and I usually close tester calls within about 24 hours.

To test the pattern, I ask that you are able to sew the pattern following the tutorial, complete the survey and submit fit photos on a model by 7/25 (for PHASE 1), 8/1 (for PHASE 2) or 8/8 (for FINAL REVIEW). Only one sample is required for each tester. I require modeled fit photos only – styled photos are welcomed and used for the tester round up post. In return, you will receive the final pattern for free and hopefully a great time connecting with other sewists.

This style is designed for a light to medium weight woven fabric with a nice drape. Recommended fabrics: cotton lawn, cotton voile, rayon challis, rayon voile, linen and double gauze.

Yardage Requirements

Chalk and Notch Women’s size range: 0 thru 18

I know that you will be committing to time away from your family or other priorities during this test. I really appreciate your time and effort. I will email all who apply by Friday, July 21st.

I have never been a tester before. I feel very confident in my abilities as a sewer. I retired after working 35 years for the same company. I am excited to have an opportunity to be a tester. Thank you for your consideration. My model would be my beautiful Granddaughter.

I will leave a few examples on the Facebook post since my business page is only aprons. I have tested patterns before and hope to work with you!

I’d love to test this pattern. I would be testing size 18, view A. I have not yet gotten my portfolio up and running. I recently signed up for my account, so I will be setting it up soon. I’d be happy to email pictures of my work or you can connect with me on Facebook and then view my pictures!

Would love to test the size 18 or a smaller size for my neighbor.
I’m currently doing a final testing for sweet pea and should be completed in a few days. I would love to test for final or 2nd tester.
I also do testing on new bag designs.
I complete my Sewing on time and have never missed a deadline.
I’m retired and have plenty of time and love to sew.

I have 6 yards of rayon that would be perfect for this that i just purchased at a garage sale. So no problem with fabric costs.

I would love to be one of your testers. I have tested before and could test any size that you needed

I would love to apply, but I would need to sew a size 20, and this pattern only goes to 18. I am sad because I love the style – it reminds me of my younger days. I have done some pattern testing and I love to do it. As a retired teacher, I still enjoy helping people to perfect their work,
