Bora Sew Along | Stay Stitching, Fusing Pattern Pieces & Finish Center Back

1. SEAM ALLOWANCE & STAYSTITCH THE MAIN BODICE NECKLINE 

Unless noted, the seam allowance included is 3/8" (1 cm) for joined seams. There is a 3/4" (2 cm) seam allowance at the center back to allow for fit adjustments. 

Clip or mark the notches indicated by "T" marks. 

Before handling your cut pieces too much, sew a stitch line 1/4" (0.6 cm) away from the fabric edge on the front and back main bodice pieces at the neckline. See arrows for stitching direction. This will help prevent the neckline from stretching out. 

Clip or mark the notches indicated by “T” marks and “triangles” just under 1/4” (0.6 cm). 

2. ADD FUSIBLE INTERFACING & FINISH THE CENTER BACK SKIRT 

Attach the fusible interfacing to the wrong side of the center back bodice and the center back skirt. The fusible will help stabilize the center back invisible zipper. Tricot fusible interfacing is recommended, but you can use any lightweight fusible interfacing. 

Finish the center back edge of the skirt pieces.

3. OPTIONAL FUSIBLE INTERFACING TO THE BODICE LINING 

Attach the fusible interfacing to the wrong side of the bodice lining pieces. You can block fuse a piece of fabric and cut the bodice lining pattern pieces from fabric already bonded with fusible. Tricot fusible interfacing is recommended, but you can use any lightweight fusible interfacing.
