BIAS NECKLINE | SEW THE SHORT ENDS OF THE BIAS

With the right sides together, fold the bias neckband in half. Sew the short seams of the bias neckband together. Press the seam open.

ATTACH BIAS TO THE NECKLINE

Starting at the center back neck, pin the bias to the cut edge of the neckline. Match the quarter notches and center front notch. Sew at 3/8″ (1 cm). Trim the sea allowance to half and clip the curves to reduce bulk. Press the seam towards the bias.

UNDERSTITCH THE BIAS

Understitch by stitching a line 1/16″ (0.15 cm) away from the seam on the bias. Make sure to catch the seam allowance towards the bias when stitching.

EDGESTITCH THE BIAS

Press the bias edge at the previously stitched line towards the center so the cut edge meets the stitch line. Fold one more time so the bias is lying on the inside of the neckline. Pin in place.

Edgestitch the bias from the wrong side, catching the very edge. When stitching from the wrong side, make sure your bobbin thread matches the right side of your garment. Press the neckline. Skip to Side Seam and Hem post to continue.
